It's a rainy Sunday afternoon over here...Vancouver...Pacific coast. What can I do, what can I say I turn up the volume and I listen to P.J Harvey. No words necessary...
great idea! I've just bought "white chalk" I guess I'll listen to it very carefully tonight. In Italy the weather is sunny but already cold even if it shouldn't be so cold... Sunday passed lazily. It's Monday :(
I haven't bought anything for a while. Usually I download from net and the last thing it was the soundtrack from the British movie "Control"...Ian Curtis & Joy Division story...
I see you're a joy division's fan. I like them too but I'm not a real supporter, I listened to them a lot years ago thanks to a very close friend of mine, who had the pleasure of going to one of their concerts (i was just five when ian curtis commited suicide) I haven't seen the film but I'll surely do.
my favourite group is actually radiohead and I'm so proud of them cause they put their album to be downloaded (the price is up to you) directly from their websites.
finally, I must admit that I haven't bought any cd for a long time too...;))
Let's put it this way. I always prefered indie ,alternative, less known bands...and still do. I respect Joy Divison and their legacy...uniqueness...a new wave...early 80's. Of course, I respect Radiohead either, especially their experimental album OK Computer, which is now known as a classic indie masterpiece...
let me recommend you, then, a very important Italian rock and indie band: afterhours. their last album is available also in a nice English version: ballads for little hyenas ballate per piccole iene
